We are proud to announce a bold new diversity initiative by your faculty union, the California Faculty Association: the formation of the CFA Latina/Latino Caucus (LC). The LC is an unprecedented and promising new social space for Latino/a faculty at CSU; a place, at long last, where we can come together, voice our and our people’s concerns and aspirations, assert our needs both as  faculty and as Latinos, all with the full support of our splendid faculty union. In this and other ways, CFA is effectively championing and becoming an example of diversity both within CSU and in our society.

The first venue of the Save Ethnic Studies Campaign Tour sponsored by the CFA-Latina/Latino caucus was very successful and exceeded all our expectations. We had over 500 people attend the event and our coordinating committee raised over $3000 from a number of sources including the CFA chapter, Associated Students, Raza Faculty & Staff Association, local artist, Michael Rios, the CTA & NEA and, last, just passing a basket at the event.

La Raza Studies Tour Coming to a Campus Near You

Teachers and students from Arizona continue their tour of CSU campuses this week to raise awareness about threats to multicultural and ethnic studies courses.

The contingent already made successful stops at CSU campuses in San Francisco, East Bay, San Jose and San Bernardino to discuss Arizona's recently passed House Bill 2281, which outlaws the teaching of Ethnic Studies in schools.

Among the tour’s sponsors are CFA’s Council for Affirmative Action and Latino/Latina Caucus.
